Malaysia Wholesale Retail Trade License (WRT)
- Definition: The Malaysia Wholesale Retail Trade License (WRT) is a license required for businesses with foreign participation in the distributive trade sector in Malaysia.
- Approval: It is approved by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC).
- Distributive Trade: This refers to all activities that channel goods and services down the supply chain for resale or to final buyers, regardless of physical or online presence.
- Purpose: The license aims to ensure growth and development in the distributive trade sector, encouraging efficiency and competitiveness.

Requirements for WRT License
- List of company directors.
- Local company director.
- Local company address and registered office address.
- Paid-up capital of at least RM1,000,000.
Application Process
- Tetra Consultants, with over 10 years of experience, assists in securing the WRT License.
- They will develop a comprehensive business plan, including information on customers, suppliers, volumes of transactions, and financial projections.
- Tetra Consultants will submit the application, which takes approximately 2 months for approval.
Documents Required for WRT License
- Completed Form WRT 1 Application Form
- Company Profile or Business Plan
- A copy of Section 58 Form (if there is any change in the register of directors, managers, and secretaries)
- A stamped copy of Section 323A Form (if there is any change in direction or transfer of shares)
- A copy of registration confirmation letter from the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN/Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri LHDN)
- Non-mandatory documents (where applicable)
- A copy of relevant and valid license(s) issued by the local authority.
- A stamped copy of the tenancy agreement or sale and purchase agreement of the business premises.
- Copies of audited financial statements for the past five (5) consecutive years.
- A copy of license(s) or approval letter(s) issued by any ministry, agency, or department related to the business.
- A Copy of the customs clearance document, bill of lading,
delivery bill, delivery orders, purchase orders, or sales invoices for the latest 3 months.
